The Evidence Storm The newest
sourcebook for the 2005-2006 NCFCA debate season is storming onto the
scene—The Evidence Storm. The
Storm offers you 1000 fully-formatted evidence cards, over 60
definitions of the key terms in the resolution, four debate
theory/strategy articles, as well as two unique services no other
evidence book provides—all for only $20.00, with no shipping and
handling charges. Plus, you can download it online right now and
begin learning immediately—no sending checks in the mail and waiting
days for your book to arrive. The editors: Zac Flowerree is
beginning his third year as the Head Coach of the Florida Storm Speech and
Debate Club. In 2003, Zac, and his partner Jon Doozan, were the 10th
place policy debate team at the NCFCA National Tournament. Zac is also the
author of Split Second Thinking:
Mastering the Art of Impromptu Speaking. Matthew Baker,
with his brother Joseph, managed the astounding feat of placing second at
the 2004 and 2005 NCFCA National Debate Tournaments. Alex Shoucair,
with his partner Dan Doozan, won the 2005 Regional Tournament for Region
8, and placed 8th place at the NCFCA National Tournament. He
was also awarded the 11th place speaking award at Nationals. The theory/strategy articles: Each of these articles is written with a focus on this year’s topic, so you will find it easy to implement the advice practically in your debates. Politics Disadvantages:
Learn how to win more rounds by constructing powerful disadvantages that
can apply to numerous affirmative cases—by Matthew Baker. Case turns and Disadvantage Turns:
Learn how to make your opponent’s arguments reasons to vote for
you—by Chris Campbell, one of the premier experts in debate theory to
come out of NCFCA. Counterplan theory:
counterplans will be extremely important this year. This article explains
how the commonly understood requirements of counterplans—mutual
exclusivity and non-topical—are really unjustified—by Rebuttal Strategy:
learn how to move from being a good debater to a great one, see exactly
how to choose voting issues, weigh them versus your opponent’s
arguments, and write your judge’s ballot—by Zac Flowerree. Services that make this sourcebook unique: 1.) If you
find a particular card in The
Evidence Storm essential to your affirmative case or one of your
negative briefs, the editors will obtain and email to you any necessary
context from which the card was cut. This is a valuable service, because
most of the articles come from Law Reviews and Peer Reviewed Journals that
you would not be able to obtain without expensive subscriptions. Access to
the context of key articles will give you the competitive edge over your
opponent’s who do not understand the vital details (often the
methodology of empirical studies) behind their most important evidence
cards. 2.) At the
beginning of every month during the debate year (starting in October), we
will email you formatted evidence cards cut from medical malpractice
articles from Law Reviews and Peer Reviewed Journals that were published
during that month. While a *couple* of other evidence books may
have more initial evidence than The
Evidence Storm, over the course of the year, these evidence cards will
vault this sourcebook ahead of all of its competitors. Again, you may not
have access to the articles from which these cards were cut without going
to a university library or paying hundreds of dollars in subscriptions to
Lexis-Nexis, Proquest, FirstSearch, etc. |
